Hayley McGregory is an English-born American competition swimmer. She is a former world-record holder in the 50 and 100-meter backstroke, and is the first woman to break a world record held by Natalie Coughlin in the 100-meter backstroke.

World record progression 50 metres backstroke - This is a listing of the history of the World Record for the 50 backstroke swimming event. Swimming World Records are maintained by FINA, the international sports federation which oversees the sport. World Records are recognized only in meter-courses: long course and short course.
