Brief facts about signoria:

A signoria was the governing authority in many of the Italian city-states during the Medieval and Renaissance periods. The word signoria comes from signore, or "lord", an abstract noun meaning "government", "governing authority", de facto "sovereignty", "lordship"; pl.: signorie.

Seignory - In English law, seignory or seigniory, spelled signiory in Early Modern English, is the lordship remaining to a grantor after the grant of an estate in fee simple. Nulle terre sans seigneur was a feudal legal maxim; where no other lord can be discovered, the Crown is lord as lord paramount.

Signoria of Florence - The Signoria of Florence was the government of the medieval and Renaissance Republic of Florence, between 1250 and 1532. Its nine members, the Priori, were chosen from the ranks of the guilds of the city: six of them from the major guilds, and two from the minor guilds.

Signoria of Venice - The Signoria of Venice was the supreme body of government of the Republic of Venice. The older Commune of Venice, was replaced by the Signoria from 1423 on, being later officially adopted in the Promissione Ducale by Cristoforo Moro. It constituted a center of power which included the doge's power.

Forni della Signoria - The Forni della Signoria was a bakehouse in Valletta, Malta. It was constructed in the late 16th century by the Order of St John, and it consisted of a number of bakeries which produced bread for the inhabitants of Valletta and the surrounding area, as well as for the Order's garrison and navy.
